MMMTA meeting on April 22 to be held via Zoom.

Guest speaker Dr. Laura Beauchamp-Williamson will be presenting on the topic of Recreational Music Making in the Private Studio: How does “recreational music making” differ from traditional lessons, and how can we incorporate this type of teaching into our studios?

From 2014-2021, Laura Williamson was the owner-instructor at Piano For Pleasure, a studio specifically set up for adult recreational classes. Since making the difficult decision to suspend the program because of the ongoing pandemic, she has been thinking about ways that traditional studio teachers could offer adult students some of the same joy-filled, stress-free learning experiences that her Piano For Pleasure students enjoyed so much. In this session she will share her thoughts on what that might look like.

KeyboardFest 2023 will be discussed and planned as well.
